This 145R14 tyre is equivalent to a 5.20x14 cross ply tyre size.
Cars that would have left the factory with a 520x14 tyre size tend to be fitted today with the radial 145R14 tyre size because the cross ply tyres are so much less suitable now than they were in period ! This means cars such as Morris Minors etc end up with smaller diameter tyres than they would originally have had. So as a consequence Blockley have produced the best handling steel belted tyre on the absolute maximum diameter tolerance, making the Blockley THE most correct equivalent tyre you can buy today. Since this became known, our Blockley diameter 597mm (the maximum allowed for a 145R14) is now quoted on other tyres listed for sale, where they assume people will not check! You will be pleasantly surprised, and the cars fitted with them will look so much better with the period correct tread pattern.

The oil present in new tyres can cause the stripe to intially discolour this process usually continues until the tyre has completed 2500-3000 miles. To help you combat this it is strongly recommended that you use our whitewall cleaner that can be purchased from our store
